Anti-corrosion coating for a coastal bridge

Vinyl neodecanoate copolymer emulsion provides long-term protection for bridge concrete in high salt-spray, high-humidity marine environments.

The Challenge

Bridge concrete exposed to salt spray and wet-dry cycles degraded rapidly because conventional acrylic emulsions lacked salt-spray and blister resistance.

Our Solution

A vinyl neodecanoate (W10) copolymer emulsion was adopted; the tertiary carbon's good hydrolysis resistance forms a dense film, optimized together with anti-corrosion pigments.

The Result

The coating passed salt-spray testing; adhesion and durability meet the bridge's long-term protection requirements.
