Metal extraction

Hydrometallurgical extraction for new-energy batteries

A lithium-battery materials company uses our high-purity neodecanoic acid as a nickel-cobalt extractant, improving separation efficiency and purity.

The Challenge

In hydrometallurgical battery recycling, nickel-cobalt separation is disturbed by co-existing ions; common carboxylic acid extractants offer poor selectivity and slow phase separation, forcing a trade-off between purity and recovery.

Our Solution

High-purity low-impurity neodecanoic acid (A10) was supplied as the main extractant; the sterically hindered tertiary carboxyl improves metal complexation selectivity and speeds phase separation.

The Result

Nickel-cobalt separation purity consistently met spec, while extraction throughput and organic-phase recycling improved in tandem.

Key results

  • 金属分离效率高
  • 有机相损耗下降
