Neodecanoic Acid Properties
The structural formula is shown in the figure, in which R1 and R2 are alkyl, with total 7 carbon atoms. The tertiary carbon structure has large steric hindrance, which is similar to umbrella structure. Therefore, it has good hydrophobicity, acid and alkali resistance, and UV resistance.
Tert-carbonic acid has unique tert-carbon structure, excellent hydrolysis stability, heat resistance and resistance to various chemical reagents. ⦁ The metal salt of neodecanoic acid can be used to prepare PVC stabilizer, paint drier and adhesive for automobile radial tire;
⦁ Neodecanoyl chloride can be used to synthesize peroxides, pesticide intermediates and pharmaceutical intermediates.
